Allora presents the conference “40 Years of Comites Around the World” on 2 May, 2026, at 3:00 PM in the Club Marconi Conference Room at Bossley Park.

The event commemorates the approval of Law No. 205 of May 8, 1985, which established the COEMIT (Committees of Italian Emigration), later renamed COMITES, with a forward-looking perspective on these democratic representative bodies.

Among the institutional guests will be Sen. Francesco Giacobbe, Hon. Nicola Carè, the Consul General of Italy in Sydney, Dr. Gianluca Rubagotti, Prof. Franco Papandrea (CGIE Australia), and the presidents of the Comites in Australia.

The conference will be moderated by Marco Testa, editor of Allora!

L'evento ricorda l'approvazione della L. 8 maggio 1985, n. 205 che ha istituito i COEMIT (Comitati dell'Emigrazione Italiana), successivamente rinominati COMITES con uno sguardo al futuro di questi organismi democratici di rappresentanza.
